After sending WEEK ONE explaining expectations, procedures, and rights & responsibilities, we started the Orff piece "Let's Play a Game" for the following two weeks. We learned this simple piece, its accompanying body percussion, and the solfege and hand signs of the melodic contour. Students also improvised a section of the piece by using their names and adding gestures. Week two of the piece was when the instrumental component of the piece was introduced. A new word was also introduced--BORDUN. There is so much we can do with this piece. I look forward to the many things that the students will do this school year.
